 | Josep Guardiola

Million Dollar Memo Winner !

An Indonesian automotive components manufacturer is celebrating after winning Tourism Queensland’s 'Million Dollar Memo' competition. ADR Group walked away with AUD $1m worth of travel incentives to Queensland after one of its employees went up against 20 finalists from 11 countries during an eight-day challenge across the region. There was also one UK finalist – London-based digital company, Reading Room.

Earlier this year companies around the world were asked to submit filmed bids to be in with a chance to win a range of employee travel experiences.

Minister for tourism, manufacturing and small business, Jan Jarratt,
said: “For the last eight days they have taken part in some of Queensland’s best incentive experiences, including travelling by helicopter and Harley, visiting Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art, meeting dolphins, koalas and kangaroos and taking part in a mini surf carnival on the Gold Coast, cooking with some of the Sunshine Coast’s top chefs, dining under the stars in the heart of the Daintree rainforest, white water rafting on the Barron River and snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef.

“Even though only one company could win the AUD$1 million in Queensland incentive travel, all of our finalists are richer for their experience and our aim is for them to go home and inspire their company to choose Queensland as their next incentive travel destination.”

Tourism Queensland CEO Anthony Hayes said while the judges had found choosing a winner incredibly hard, ADR Group’s VP of international business development, Rusman Salem Mustam, had demonstrated that he more than any other finalist had earned the reward.

“Throughout the entire event Rusman showed us that he was a fantastic ambassador for both his company and Queensland. His enthusiasm for the challenges we set, his obvious love of Queensland and his strong sense of leadership, teamwork and adaptability make him a worthy winner.”
